The visualization in a previous newsletter was the living, breathing system.
As the inhale collects the stories from the peripheries, the pause between the inhale and the exhale acknowledges existence and reality. The exhale distributes what is needed into the regions. You know about the pause, when the exhale finishes, just before the next inhale begins. In that pause, the receiving parts of the system do their thing, knowing they are supported and part of something bigger. Forever learning, forever adapting.
There are alternatives to ‘everyone for themselves’. Open-source and Creative Commons applications everywhere but alas, under-resourced to be tackling the real problems.
The potential is huge to collaborate horizontally and vertically to create better outcomes while regeneratively contributing.
An example is a public transport uber-type hail-a-ride technology solution, that if created as an Open Source project can be applied in different regions and cities. Different roads, different demographics, but the same outcomes. Less individual car use and a whole raft of benefits with it. Commons over Commodities.
Our network exists to support the enablers of social, impact and kaupapa-driven enterprises in the regions of Aotearoa New Zealand.
An amazing network could operate on the breathing and living system level, where members and friends come together and share stories. Learning from others for impact-focused collaboration will be easy when the hubs are resourced to spend time together. Sometimes members and friends will be supporters, sometimes they will be contributors and sometimes they will be co-creators. When a hub wants to create a resource for their region, the network can support via technology and expertise. The overall project as an entrepreneurial undertaking could be handled like a Slicing Pie project. Transparent on Impact and $ values. But the same can apply to grants and donations.
Also, like a flatsharing situation, everyone empties the dishwasher when they get a chance, even if you only put a plate in. The benefit is a happy household.
GET INVOLVED
If you are a social enterprise and miss an enabler hub in your region, get in touch here.
Or forward this to a friend or colleague that comes to mind. Or an organisation that works on systemic change.
We want to be contributing to the intricately working parts of the breathing system, together.
What do you think is needed, in your part of Aotearoa?
Until next time.
